Also, we were both a tad disappointed in the last chapter of the book. The girl’s relationship with their grandmother, for example, would have been a good one to explore. We would have loved to have seen a just few extra chapters exploring some of the sub-stories, secondary relationships and characters as they were quite interesting as well. More importantly, this book looks at the trust we place with those we love and how it can benefit us or how, in some instances, it can hurt us. We see romantic relationships as well as family relationships and the author seems to take us through all the emotions that they can bring out in us….happiness, sadness, anger, confusion.

This book explores relationships in an interesting way. Who doesn’t love a handsome guy with a big heart?!? He’s more in touch with his feelings than Kristen and realizes quite quickly that he’s fallen for her. Zach is your bad boy…complete with leather jacket and fast bike…who just happens to be a softy underneath. Her relationship with her sisters also changes as she seems to mature through the process of dealing with the game and it’s many repercussions.

Kristen’s character undergoes a transformation as we watch her begin to understand what this game actually means and how it can affect others. The characters were likeable and we loved the alternating points of view between Kristen and Zach because it gave more depth and feeling to the storyline as a whole. But, Zach, has a few dark secrets of his own…one of which makes him immune to the powers of the witches magic dust.Īlthough the plot was a bit predictable at times, the story was fun and fast paced. Once a witch blows her magic dust into the face of the boy she wants to crush, the boy is suppose to fall head over heels for the witch that now controls him. Tall, Dark and Scary, things don’t exactly go according to plan. Kristen, Brittany and Cyndi are witches and when Kristen is dared to crush Zach Bevian, Mr. Our Thoughts: It’s only a game… at least that’s what the Noah triplets believe as they prepare to play the game one final time during their senior year in high school. Crushed is getting a place on our THIRD SHELF!
